Abstract-Vorschau

Background: Circadian rhythm measures time on a scale of 24 hours. Many aspects of physiology show regulation within the 24 hours time slot: sleep-wake cycles and hence cognitive performance, body temperature, cardiac- (blood-pressure and heartbeat) as well as renal functions etc. On a molecular level, oscillations in the expression of specific genes evoke the alterations of the listed physiological aspects.
