Introduction Down-regulated in adenoma (DRA; SLC26A3) is an intestinal chloride/bicarbonate exchanger that is functionally coupled to NHE3 (Na/H exchanger-isoform 3) in the ileum and proximal colon to mediate electroneutral NaCl absorption.
