Sclerosing mediastinitis is a rare condition in which mediastinal structures are surrounded, constricted and sometimes invaded by fibrous tissue. The main causes are histoplasmosis and tuberculosis, and very few idiopathic. The histopathological diagnosis is often difficult requiring invasive methods.
