Background: CAP in age over 65 years has higher mortality and complication rate then in younger. In over 85% of cases various comorbidities are present. The clinical signs of CAP can be atypical, treatment prolonged, hospitalisation more frequent. The main symptoms are hypoxaemia, dehidration and confusion.
