Introduction: Neoadjuvant chemo-radiotherapy is gaining acceptance for destaging rectal tumours. We report our experience in this field. Patients: We operated 50 patients for rectal carcinoma in 2006. The mean age of the patients was 66 years, the male: female ratio was 27:23.
