Studies of Protein Synthesis in Rat Embryonic Liver and Hepatoblast

The protein synthesis capacity during liver embryonic development is still poorly characterized. Methods: Rat embryonic livers from different development days and adult liver were analysed. Hepatoblasts were isolated, cultured and passaged for several times. We studied protein synthesis of the whole embryonic liver and of isolated hepatoblasts by immunoprecipitation and SDS PAGE using biosynthetic labelling with 35S-methionine, and immunostaining.
