Triple-therapy with first generation direct-acting antivirals: The cure of hepatitis C in HIV-positive patients?

Objective: To assess the potential of triple-therapy with the first generation direct-acting antivirals boceprevir (BOC) and telaprevir (TPV) in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) coinfection in HIV-positive patients treated at the Medical University of Vienna. Methods: 443 HIV-positive patients, with positive HCV serology treated at the Medical University of Vienna after 16.06.2005 were included in this retrospective analysis.
