Pilot colorectal screening program in Mosonmagyaróvár

Background: In Hungary, colorectal cancer is the second most common malignant disease. In the pilot program organised in the frame of the National Public Health Programme fecal occult blood testing (FOBT) was performed. Patients and methods: 1535 asymptomatic individuals were screened uptil august of 2013. Patiens who tested positive were refered to the department of gastroenterology for colonoscopy.
