Novel rat model of repetitive portal venous embolization mimicing human non-cirrhotic idiopathic portal hypertension

Background: The non-cirrhotic idiopathic portal hypertension (NCIPH) is characterized by splenomegaly, anemia and portal hypertension, while liver function is preserved.
