Diagnostic performance of a CAD system in the detection of colonic polyps in virtual colonoscopy

Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of the CAD (computer-aided-detection) system developed by us in the detection of colonic polyps by experimental models and patient examinations. Materials and methods: 1. Experimental model: to simulate the large bowel firstly plastic tubes were applied with smooth internal surface or flexible tubes to mimic colonic haustra.
