Determination of T-251A polymorphism of IL-8 and G-308A polymorphism of TNF-α in different gastric diseases

Background: We aimed to examine the prevalence and clarify the effect of T-251A functional polymorphism of IL-8 gene and G-308A polymorphism of TNF-α gene in H. pylori positive and negative cases in different gastric diseases. Materials and methods: Genomic DNA was extracted from biopsy samples of 231 patients with gastritis (n=93), intestinal metaplasia (IM) (n=46), atrophy (n=34) and from histologically negative normal patients (n=59).
