Zusammenfassung

Introduction: [18F]2-fluoro-2-deoxy-glucose ([18F]FDG) is a glucose analog and is well established in diagnosis of tumours and treatment response. It was demonstrated a high degree of heterogeneity in inter-tumoural and intra-tumoural [18F]FDG uptake. We could show that [18F]FDG-uptake in unirradiated FaDu xenografts was significantly higher in hypoxic tumour areas in comparison to normoxic cells. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of single dose irradiation on [18F]FDG-uptake in relation to hypoxia using autoradiography and quantitative histology.
