Development of the KIDSCREEN – A European Initiative to Improve Health Assessment for Children

The KIDSCREEN Project–founded by the EC and involving 13 European countries aims on a cross-cultural simultaneously development, testing and implementation of a generic measure of HrQoL for children and adolescents. After item generation using delphi methods and focus groups a pilot test of the project resulted in a data set of 3019 children and adolescents (8 to 18 years). IRT techniques allowed identifying most informative items, showing no differential item functioning (DIF) cross- culturally.
