Modulation of HCV reinfection by fibroblast growth factor-2 and other non-interferon mediators

Objective: We aimed to describe the composition of the inflammatory response at the time of hepatitis C virus (HCV) graft reinfection following orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT), assess its impact of the HCV replication cycle and identify individual pro- and antiviral inflammatory mediators. Design: We used a Luminex assay to quantify 50 inflammatory mediators in sera before and shortly after OLT.
