Zusammenfassung
Purpose: Endothelin–1 (ET–1) and endothelin-A-receptor (ETAR) are of major importance in breast cancer carcinogenesis and progression. Activation of ETAR by ET–1 induces proliferation, angiogenesis and anti-apoptosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate if specific ETAR antagonist ZD4054 has the potential as an innovative targeted therapy of breast cancer. Experimental design: Effects of ZD4054 on breast cancer cell gene expression (rt-PCR), proliferation (alamarBlue®), migration and invasion (Boyden chamber) were investigated, and an aromatase over-expression breast cancer xenograft model was established.
