Why full-term newborns' need to be admitted to the department of neonatal care?

Aims: The aim of this study was to analyze reasons of hospitalization of full-term newborns, treated at 3-rd level centre Department of Neonatal Care, Poznan University of Medical Sciences Material: 1567 newborns were examined. Methodology: Retrospective data were obtained from department's medical records. Mothers' age, obstetric history, mode of delivery and Apgar score, umbilical blood pH, birth weight, gender, type of illness and duration of therapy were taken into consideration.
