Homeopathic drugs become more and more important. Their effects are being proved in several clinical studies but knowledge about basic mechanisms is extremely rare. Only a few in vitro studies exist in which the effects of dilutions are investigated. The aim of the present study was therefore to establish an in-vitro model in which the effects of homeopathic belladonna or atropine dilutions could be determined on neurotransmitter-induced smooth muscle contractions.
