Abstract The staging of malignant tumors with imaging procedures provides information about both the patient’s prognosis and the appropriate therapy. Therefore, the diagnostic radiologist should be familiar with the value and interpretation of staging procedures as well as the potential treatment options in order to be able to evaluate the findings and plan additional procedures when appropriate.
