Zusammenfassung
In many cases, differentiation between hemifacial spasm (HFS), postparetic facial synkinesia (PFS) and blepharospasm (Bl) can be achieved clinically: HFS is distinguished by spontaneous synchronous contraction mainly of the orbicularis oculi and frontal muscles (Babinski-II-sign), PFS only occur with involuntary or voluntary blinking and in Bl contraction is limited to m. orbicularis oculi. Nevertheless, respective diagnoses often remain doubtful.
