Objective & purpose: To briefly outline common interventions in children, trying to address specific needs and challenges during childhood; rare and more complicated procedures will only be mentioned briefly. Content: There are some routinely used interventional procedures with specific importance in childhood. For example, (ileo-colic) intussusception is a typical paediatric emergency usually diagnosed on ultrasound (US) and immediately treated by US-guided hydrostatic reduction or fluoroscopically guided pneumonic reduction, both with high success rates.
