Zusammenfassung

Background: Prophylactic cerclages are widely used procedure although there are no defined timing of procedure to reduce the risk of premature delivery. Materials and methods: In this retrospective study of all cerclages performed by the author at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Lagos between 1986 and 2013 under valium, phenergan and fortwin medication were analysed looking at fetal morbidity and mortality, length of pregnancy and maternal outcome.
