Zusammenfassung

The aim of the present study was to detect characteristic patterns of longitudinal strain curves in patients with Barlow's disease. Standardised transthoracic echocardiography was performed in patients with Barlow's disease (group I; n = 20) and in patients with mitral regurgitation due to Carpentier's classification type I (group II; n = 20). Strain analysis by 2D speckle tracking was performed in all patients of both cohorts to obtain regional strain curve patterns and for determination of longitudinal strain values.
