Efficacy and toxicity of glivec in the treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumours

Introduction/Study purpose: Gatrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) were practically radio- chemotherapy resistant type of tumours, the median overall survival of advanced disease was 1 year in the past. GIST is characterized by C-KIT mutation specified by CD117 expression. Glivec (Imatinib Mesylate) is a selective inhibitor of the mutated C-KIT function.
