Background & Aims: Diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) remains challenging. Aim of this study was to evaluate clinical characteristics and treatment-outcome in patients with AIH. Patients & Methods: 161 AIH-patients (female: 129/80%, age: 47 ± 18 [years; mean ± SD]) were retrospectively evaluated. Demographic data, scoring according to the revised and simplified scoring-system of the international autoimmune hepatitis study group (IAIHSG), histological findings and treatment- response were assessed.
