Long-term outcome of TNFα antibody treatment in patients with IBD: a retrospective single center study over 14 years

Background: As long-term follow-up studies of patients with IBD and anti-TNF treatment are limited we assessed the outcome of our patients. Methods: The records of 267 patients (216 CD, 51 UC) treated with infliximab and/or adalimumab between 10/99 and 10/13 could be analysed. Results: Median (range) age at induction of treatment was 30 (13 – 81) years for CD and 35 (18 – 83) years for UC. Duration of disease prior to TNF treatment was 5.7 (0 – 33.7) years in patients with CD and 6.1 (0.3 – 33.3) years for patients with UC.
