Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze potential changes in celiac disease (CD) associated complications such as refractory celiac disease (RCD), enteropathy associated T-cell lymphoma (EATL) and small bowel adenocarcinoma (SBAC) over the last 25 years. Design: 1123 patients were included and evaluated based on their time of first presentation at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. Occurrences of RCD, EATL and SBAC were evaluated for five-year intervals from January 1990 until December 2014 and were compared over time.
