Impact of an intratracheally applied recombinant Surfactant Apoprotein C on anaphylactic shock reactions in a guinea pig model of acute lung hypersensitivity

The effect of the intratracheal administration of the recombinant SP-C surfactant apoprotein (rSP-C) with phospholipids (PL) in comparison to an ovalbumin induced anaphylactic shock reaction was studied in guinea pigs lungs. Narcotized guinea pigs were challenged by intratracheal administration on test day 24/25 once with a suspension of rSP-C/PL (reconstituted suspension).
