Zusammenfassung

Purpose: PAIR is an interventional method for treatment of cystic echinococcosis. Aim: Report of our own modifications and results. Methods and Materials: 150 patients were treated for a period of 48 months. 247 liver and extraliver hydatid cysts (average size of 7,2 sm) were punctured under US control together with peroral bensimidazole therapy. The cysts were classified according to Gharbi's classification. Different modifications of the method-PAI, PAIR, PAIRI, PAIRL, PAIRLI (including lavage and/or final small scolicid injection, which remains in situ) and PAIRD were used.
