THE ANALYSIS OF BLOOD FLOW IN PORTAL VEIN AT INSPIRATION, EXPIRATION AND DURING FATTY MEAL TEST

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the diameter and velocity of blood flow in portal vein at inspiration and expiration as well as during fatty meal test (before and after 45 minutes of intake of 200.0ml of fat yogurt). Methods and Materials: 13 healthy subjects (mean age 34.4±2.06 years) were examined. Kontron 330 sigma ultrasound scanner was used. Results: The following results were obtained: right lobe of liver cranio-caudal dimension was 90.5±3.8mm, oblique-vertical –130.7±3.3mm; left lobe of liver cranio-caudal dimension was 83.2±2.4mm, anterior-posterior dimension –42.7±2.0mm.
