New diagnostics for laser and refractive IOL surgery

Preoperative diagnostics have become an important part of refractive surgery. The anatomical structures of interest are: tears, cornea, anterior chamber, pupil, lens and posterior segment. New diagnostic tools include topography, aberrometry, anterior segment optical coherence tomography, digital infrared pupillometry, intraocular pressure devices, Scheimpflug imaging and partial coherence interferometry.
