Zusammenfassung

Summary An 11-year-old Arab cross mare was presented at the clinic with a gait abnormality on the left hindleg at walk. The horse showed a forceful placement of the left hind foot at the cranial extent in the cranial phase of the stride. A non-painful firmness area was palpable within the tissues caudal to the left stifle. Ultrasonographic examination of the caudal surface of the left hindleg revealed the area of fibrosis. On the basis of clinical signs and ultrasonographic findings, the condition was diagnosed as fibrotic myopathy of the semitendinosus muscle.
