Aim Of this study was to investigate the risk factors of patients who suffered a brain stroke in the rural area of Goumenissa-Kilkis. Material-Method We examined the medical files of a sample of greek patients who suffered from a brain stroke and attended the General Hospital of Goumenissa for treatment during the period from 2004–2006. Risk factors of brain strokes were defined and detected such as Diabetes Mellitus (DM), Arterial Hypertension (AH), Atrial Fibrillation (AF), Coronary Disease (CD) and Hyperlipidemia.
