Efficacy and tolerability of Ginkgo biloba extract EGb 761® in Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia: Analyses of a randomised controlled trial

Supplementary analyses of a randomised controlled dementia trial were performed to find out whether treatment effects differ by type of dementia. Altogether, 395 patients aged 50 years or above, suffering from dementia with neuropsychiatric features, were treated with EGb 761® (240mg/day) or placebo for 22 weeks. Patients scored 35 or below on the TE4D, a screening test for dementia, and between 9 and 23 on the SKT, a cross-culturally validated cognitive test battery.
