The evaluation of of left ventricular ejection fraction and functional capacity after aortic valve replacement for severe aortic stenosis

Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate postoperatory left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) and improvement of NYHA functional class after aortic valve replacement for severe aortic stenosis associated with left ventricular systolic dysfunction, in patients with and without coronary artery disease. Material and methods: 28 patients with aortic valve replacement with mechanical prosthesis and 4 patients with biological prosthesis and severe left ventricular systolic dysfunction (EF
