Comparison of treatment menstruations anomalies between levonogestrel intrauterine device (LNG-IUD) and hysteroscopical endometrial thermaplate

Objective: The purpose of the study was to analyze the contribution of the (LNG-IUD) in premenopausal women with heavy uterine bleeding compared to surgical therapy. Methods: This is a retrospective observational study of 85 premenopausal women (Group A) from January 1998 until December 2005 in Clinicum Aschaffenburg, who received a LNG-IUD inserted for non contraceptive reasons to evaluate the efficacy of this device in the therapy of menorrhagia.
