Zusammenfassung
Objective: Fetal Magnetoencephalography (fMEG) is a non-invasive method to record fetal brain activity. Delayed brain responses to auditory stimulation has been revealed in fetuses weighing below the 10th percentile for GA (gestational age) [1]. Indicates this a delayed brain maturation in intrauterine growth restricted fetuses (IUGR) suffering placental insufficiency? This study used fMEG to detect cerebral responses to visual stimulation distinguishing two groups of fetuses below the 10th percentile: IUGR and constitutionally small-for-gestational-age fetuses (SGA) were compared to normotrophic fetuses.
