Brachytherapy for local control in pediatric sarcomas

Introduction: Soft tissue sarcomas represent the third most solid tumors in pediatric patients besides CNS tumors and neuroblastomas. Local therapy is mandatory for cure of malignant soft tissue tumors. Along with surgery radiation therapy constitutes an important part of local therapy. Brachytherapy has significant advantages over common radiation therapy.
