Abstract Analytical characterization and comparison of medicinally used Echinacea preparations The three species Echinacea angustifolia, E. pallida and E. purpurea are used as starting material for the production of phytotherapeutic and homeopathic preparations, which are used as nonspecific immunostimulants. Presumably, both low and high molecular weight ingredients are involved in the activity.
