Zusammenfassung

Following a mandate from the Euro-pean Commission, standardization of chemical indicators is underway within CENATC 102. In the course of time, the EN 867 series of Standards have been, and are being, replaced by Standards belonging to the EN ISO 11140 series. The Official Journal of the European Com-munities cites ISO 11140-1:2009 and EN ISO 11140-3:2009 as harmonized Standards in relation to Directive 93/42/EEC concerning medical devices, but not EN ISO 11140-4 or EN 867-5. This selec-tive approach is neither explained nor comprehensible.
