Due to the growing number of people working in the German Health care System (+15% since the year 2000) occupational health in health care workers attires much more attention than in former times. This interesting field of occupational medicine has first been described by Bernardino Ramazzini (1634 - 1714) in the year 1700 (Ramazzini, 1953): Onechapter of his book De morbis artificum dealt with infections in midwifes caused by treatment of infectious pregnant women. 200 years later the German author (and dermatologist) Gottfried Benn (1886 - 1956) reported a Syphilis prevalence of 0.4% in the same occupational g…
