Zusammenfassung

Institutions and services for elderly people address not only people in need of physical care, but also people in the early stages of dementia and people with young-onset dementia. In these types of social services for elderly people, professionals follow social concepts of care to enable people living with dementia to maintain a state of well-being. But what does everyday care practice look like? The paper reflects an ethnographic study to point out how aspects of dealing with dementia determine the practice of the professionals in the microprocess of social care.
