IntroductionCoronary heart disease (CHD) is the leading cause of death worldwide (WHO 2020). Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is the most common life-threatening manifestation of CHD (Reed et al. 2017). Among the revascularization therapies (e.g., aortocoronary bypass surgery) for AMI, primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is the most rapid and effective treatment.
