Zusammenfassung

Background: Vegetarian and vegan diets are becoming increasingly popular among young adults. As a result, animal products are often replaced by plant-based alternatives classified as ultra-processed foods (UPF). Studies have shown that UPF products are generally energy-dense and poor in nutrients. Our study aimed to assess the association between the consumption of UPF and the adequacy of intake of critical nutrients in young adults with different dietary patterns.
