Zusammenfassung

Multiple myeloma (MM) is the second most common hematologic malignancy. Although treatment options have increased in recent years, there is still no curative therapy. Evidence suggests that the microbiome plays a central role in the development of this disease, known as myelomagenesis, and also in its treatment, especially in the new era of immunotherapy. In both solid and non-solid cancers, various forms of immunotherapies now make up a large part of the treatment options.
