Zusammenfassung

Objective Whole room indirect calorimeters (WRIC) measure the impact of energy flux or diet composition on energy and macronutrient balance. Two new WRICs located in Kiel (each with a volume of 24,282 L) are validated according to Room Indirect Calorimetry Operating and Reporting Standards (RICORS 1.0). Methods For technical validation, sixteen 10h-propane burns were analyzed to determine the precision of VO2 and VCO2 measurements and accuracy compared with predicted stoichiometric values.
