Objective: Sedentary lifestyle increases the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of different levels of energy flux (EF; low, medium and high level of physical activity and corresponding energy intake) on glucose metabolism at equal energy balance, caloric restriction and overfeeding. Methods: 14 healthy individuals (11 men, 3 women, 25.2 ± 4.0 years, FMI 5.2 ± 3.3 kg/m2) participated in an ongoing randomized cross-over intervention.
