Aim: Nutritional support in patients suffering from chronic pancreatitis (CP) is an ongoing challange for clinicians. About 80% of these patients can be managed by oral dietary recommendations but around 5–6% are reported in the literature to need total parenteral nutrition (TPN) or enteral tube feeding during their course of disease. Enteral long term feeding is supposed to increase patients's weight and nutritional status while abdominal pain and oral food intake related gastrointestinal side effects are reduced.
