Purpose: To identify the risk factors causing childhood obesity and to develop a more conscious approach in prevention. Method: The study was conducted on 125 children aged between 4 and 14 years and their parents. An enquiry form was used to collect information on the children, their families and the risk factors assumed to cause obesity. The weights and heights of the children and of the parents were measured. Their body mass index was calculated.
