Introduction: Obesity is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Weight loss leads to a reduction of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemias and other weight dependent complaints. Bariatric surgery seems to be the best way to treat obese patients with a BMI >40 (SOS-Study 2004). Aim of our study was to evaluate quality of life after successful weight reduction in obese patients with the adjustable gastric banding (acc. to Kuzmak).
