Background: The Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) is a widespread tool to identify elderly persons with malnutrition or at risk of malnutrition. Since the complete MNA (MNA-C) may be too long for routine screening in the clinical setting, a short-form version (MNA-SF, 6 questions of the MNA-C) is alternatively suggested. Aim: To assess the ability of the MNA-SF to predict malnutrition in hospitalised (HGP) and ambulatory geriatric patients (AGP) by a comparative evaluation with MNA-C.
